MSP RAISES QUESTIONS ABOUT REDUCED BUS SERVICES BETWEEN GARTCOSH AND GLASGOW FORT

Central Scotland MSP John Wilson, has sought answers from Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) after a decision was made to reduce the bus service which travels between Gartcosh and the Glasgow Fort.

Mr Wilson has written to SPT’s Chief Executive, Mr Gordon Maclennan, to note his concerns regarding the negative impact this decision will have on people in the local area and to raise serious concerns regarding the lack of consultation prior to this decision being taken.

John Wilson MSP said “A reduction in services between Gartcosh and the Glasgow Fort has serious implications for my constituents, particularly for those people travelling for employment purposes.”

“This is particularly worrying given that, at a time when we should be encouraging as many people as possible to use public transport, constituents are having these vital services withdrawn and being given little other choice.”

“I have written to SPT’s Chief Executive, Mr Gordon Maclennan to shed some light on why changes to these services have been implemented and whether any consideration has been given to replacing the lost services with a suitable alternative”.
